Why Caffeinated Church?

Perkatory is the anguished, prolonged period spent waiting for a fresh pot of coffee to be ready. Time around the coffee pot causes relationships to flourish as we wait with one another for some hot brew. Collaboration happens as we share ideas, seek and offer advice, and challenge one another.

In seeking ways to find greater collaboration with other communicators, the cyber coffee pot, CaffeinatedChurch.org, was born.

History

Caffeinated Church simply started as a resource offering from the Episcopal Church in Colorado to churches in the diocese. Out of a posture of sharing and a love of collaboration, we’ve enjoyed making these resources available to the wider Church. While having originated in the Episcopal Church in Colorado, Caffeinated Church is growing ecumenically beyond the Episcopal Church denomination and we have a large number of Lutheran, Methodist, Presbyterian, and other siblings utilizing the resources and offerings of Caffeinated Church. We are all better for the collaboration and insights across our denominational lines! We receive a lot of resources, ideas, and opportunities from other synods, conferences, dioceses, and partners in a multitude of areas of our ministry; stewardship, faith formation, world missions, etc. Caffeinated Church is simply an organic collective of resource-sharers and we are a hub for community sharing.

We are glad you are here!
